Saint Louis Wind Symphony Youth Ensemble

The Saint Louis Wind Symphony strives to fulfill our youth outreach mission by providing educational and performance opportunities for area student musicians. The most notable activity is participation in the Saint Louis Wind Symphony Youth Ensemble (formed in 2017).

The Youth Ensemble allows high-achieving young musicians from around the St. Louis metro area (including Illinois) to come together to perform challenging and rewarding band literature. The directors of the Youth Ensemble skillfully blend musical excellence with the ability to motivate and inspire our young musicians. Our goal is to fully utilize the talents and skills of all members of the group to best display their abilities and showcase the ensemble’s talents and strengths as well as offer a meaningful educational experience, while still maintaining a fun and enjoyable atmosphere during weekly rehearsals.

Saint Louis Wind Symphony Legacy Scholarship

One of the most pressing needs in higher education today is funding for scholarships. Scholarships allow deserving students to attain their educational goals, meet their professional objectives and succeed to their fullest ability. This talent-based scholarship will help those participating in a collegiate band program offset some of the costs associated with earning a degree. The St. Louis Wind Symphony continues to support music education by offering this $500 scholarship annually to a member of the Youth Ensemble. This scholarship is financed through contributions by individual donors and contributions in honor of Sam Goldstein and Faye Siegel. The 2023-2024 recipient will be announced at the Youth Ensemble concert.

Legacy Scholarship Recipient 2022-2023
